Gokinjo Monogatari (ご近所物語, lit. Neighorbood Story) is a manga written, and illustrated by Ai Yazawa. It was serialized in the magazine, Ribon from 1995 to 1997, and was published by Shueisha into seven volumes.

The anime was directed by Atsutoshi Umezawa, and aired from September 10, 1995, until September 1, 1996.

Paradise Kiss is a stand-alone sequel written by Ai Yazawa. Mikako Kouda, Tsutomu Yamaguchi, Seiji Kisaragi, and Ms. Hamada are the most notable of the reappearances.

The anime of Gokinjo Monogatari, aired from September 10, 1995 to September 1, 1996 with a total of fifty episodes.

The opening theme is "He.Ro.I.Ne," sung by Rumi Shishido, the voice actress of Mikako. The ending themes were "Don't You Know?!" from episode one to twenty-eight, and "NG!" from episode twenty-nine to fifty, both were sung by Rumi Shishido.
